Hello and welcome from the three of us - Jean Wolfe, Alice Elliott and Ute Wieczorek-King
We're pleased that you have decided to start blogging as we think it is a fantastic way to find and express your voice. We are obviously even more pleased that you have chosen us to help you on your blogging journey.
What happens on this course
The week kicks off with an online presentation which you can follow via a link we will send you on Day 1.
This presentation is the foundation of the e-course. It tells you more about the possibilities with blogging and gives you information to help you decide where to publish your first post.
You will hear what blogging has done for us, and get you thinking about your reader, the ‘feel’ of your blog and the direction you want to take.
Then you will receive four more emails with the topic for each day.
One of these emails will contain links to the tutorials that will show you how to set up your own WordPress.com blog (should you decide after listening to the presentation that this will be the best option for you).
What you are going to do each day
Each email includes some useful activities to focus on.
They provide you with guidance, but of course, you may wish to pick and choose your actions depending on:
- how applicable they are to your blog progress
- the time you have available on that particular day
- and how much you like to challenge yourself
You can always come back to them at a later stage.
How to digest key content and log new ideas
We recommend that you log your key actions and priorities and any ideas you may have during the course in a special notebook. If you are like us you love a new notebook and enjoy buying one for yourself!
That way, nothing will get lost and you can always easily identify what will move YOUR blog forward!
Another good way to not forget anything important is to print out any emails you wish to keep.
Then you can read with a highlighter or pen, and mark areas of importance with a star.
Last but not least – your questions and our contact details!
Incidentally, if you have any questions or would like to tell us how you are getting on, please email us at email@example.com.
Or you can contact us via social media. We suggest you connect with us anyway as it is such a great way to stay in touch!
If you would prefer to connect via LinkedIn or Facebook, just search for our names!
The e-course is intended to be self-explanatory. However, if you have any major issues which require in-depth one-to-one help, please let us know as we can organize additional help for you on our Blogging Clinics.
We look forward to showing you the presentation and helping you to get the ball … or rather blog… rolling!
