‘Kickstart your first blog’ e-course
You're keen to write your first blog as you've heard lots about 'blogging' - how it can help you to promote what you do or share stories that are close to your heart.
You want to get going quickly but what's the best way to get started? (Anything to do with technology usually fills you with terror)
What you need is a safe environment where you learn to set up and write your first blog. Where you get help, guidance and reassurance from people who understand you and think like you do.
You are not alone!
We also experienced anxious thoughts and feelings when we started our first blog. We were once just like you (even if it was a long time ago!), so we have adopted an approach that is supportive, non-technical and we take things in simple steps.
And we don't speak in jargon – just plain English and there is no complicated technology to master.
|“Thank you for this blogging course. I really enjoyed it, did my homework and made lots of notes. I did some serious thinking too about my blogging and I now know where it is going.”|
Perhaps we should introduce ourselves
We are three women past the first flush of youth who love writing our blogs and are successful in helping others.
- One has won Blog Awards
- One writes for very prestigious blogs
- And the other interviews people on radio about what they love to do in their business
We each started our first blog in 2006 and have found that bloggin has helped us reach more people more easily. It has also helped us be authentic in building a good reputation online, in a way that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise.
What's unique about our courses is that we are able to combine our business coaching, marketing and blogging expertise together with our experience in blog training.
Alice Elliott, Fairy Blog Mother, has been blogging for 10 years and is a WordPress trainer specialising in teaching beginners and post-beginners. She is well known for “explaining things really simply” through her highly visual e-courses. It was her personal experiences of having very little help to fathom the technical side of blogging that inspired her to create the Fairy Blog Mother. She won an award at the National UK Blog Awards, and regularly guest writes for many established blogs.
Jean Wolfe, Creative Spark Communications, is an established marketer, writer and radio broadcaster. Jean’s skills include helping women to speak up for their way of doing business, both on the radio and the Internet. She is fascinated by the fact that blogging is often more enjoyable than writing a website, and feels this is a more authentic way to market a business. She has been a teacher, publicist for book authors, and marketed and sold solar electric products internationally.
Ute Wieczorek-King, Success Network, is an experienced business owner, trainer and mentor. She started blogging in 2007 but didn't find it easy at first, as she doesn’t write in her native language. Ute believes in blogging as the best way to help female entrepreneurs (particularly those who are a little shy) promote themselves and get known. She has written several e-books and 100s of blog posts, some of which are published on 'The Huffington Post' and 'Prowess 2.0'.

|"Thank you very much, your e-course has made a real difference to me. The initial webinar set the tone, the prompts helped me focus, build a structure and find my sense of direction. I am a real computer phobic… but I know that being outside our comfort zone is where we learn and I thank you for that. Learning about WordPress from watching the videos was so illuminating and I have learnt so much from them. I feel far more confident to find my way around my blog site and have confidence to implement the functions. All of the week’s material was outstanding and in fact was simply pure gold. Thank you very much."|

Have any questions?
Q: "How will this course be delivered?"
A: After payment you will receive 3 emails:
- Confirmation of your payment from Paypal
- An automated email from us inviting you to register a username and password so you can login to access the e-course
- Confirmation from MailChimp to join our special e-courses list
If you don't receive these emails, look inside your spam or junk folders. Otherwise if nothing's happened after about half an hour, contact us and we'll try and sort it out for you.
Q: "I’m really concerned about the technical language, are you sure I will understand it?"
A: We give you that information as clearly as possible so you can work at your own pace and not feel hustled. We do our best to avoid jargon and be reassured we are not remotely geeky, so no need to worry.
Q: "Do I need to have a login username and password to access the course?"
A: Yes, one of the emails you'll receive after payment will give you these details (see the first question).
Q: "How much time will I need for this course?"
A: It depends how much you know already and how excited you are about the changes you are making. We estimate 20-60 minutes per day and the maximum will depend on you. The step-by-step videos can be viewed independently and as many times as you like. We hope you will do so well that it will be worth spending more time on this course.
Q: "What happens if I miss a day because I’m too busy? Or a week, if I’m on holiday?"
A: All the information will be there, waiting in our system for whenever you are ready. Some people prefer doing the course daily, others store the emails somewhere safe to catch up on them later.
Q: "Is your information up to date? I know the internet is always changing."
A: What an excellent question. Luckily most of the recent changes are in favour of professional people who care about their reputation. People offering the latest trick or guaranteed short cut are now in trouble. Alice has won a National UK Blog Award which certainly wouldn’t have happened if she were not up to date in her thinking. You won’t get any out-dated slick answers from us that may have worked in the past.
Q: "Are you available to give extra help along the way?"
A: We have a support system for our course participants, ranging from individual Skype sessions to an ongoing support programme where we take you from zero to hero for as long as is necessary to make your blog the best it can be!
