Is your New Year resolution to start a blog?

Growing StrawberriesPerhaps you want to start a blog but don’t think of yourself as a writer or think it's too technical? You don’t know what to do first, or simply wonder if anyone would want to read what you have to say?

You are not alone. Other people do think the same way you do. Some may be your clients or your friends but there are a whole lot more who you have never met who want to hear what you say.

We also perfectly understand your challenges, because we've been there and had to learn the hard way ourselves! This means the course we have created for you breaks down what you need to know and do in just 5 steps - only one step a day!

It's easy. We’ll show you how to start a blog!

a plant growing inside a lightbulbYou would gain from a blog even if

  • You don’t think of yourself as a writer
  • You found a website difficult to put together
  • You hate the idea of publishing something trivial via social media
  • You want to maintain your integrity
  • You want the chance to express yourself
  • You want to explain your business so your customers understand you better
“Thank you for this blogging course. I really enjoyed it, did my homework and made lots of notes. I did some serious thinking too about my blogging and I now know where it is going.”

Perhaps we should introduce ourselves

BlossomWe are three women past the first flush of youth who love writing our blogs and are successful in helping others.

  • One has won Blog Awards
  • One writes for very prestigious blogs
  • And the other interviews people on radio about what they love to do in their business

We have been blogging since 2006 and it has helped us reach more people more easily. It has helped us be authentic in building a good reputation online, in a way that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise.

We also combine our business coaching, marketing and blogging expertise together with our experience in training in blogging.

Alice ElliottAlice Elliott, Fairy Blog Mother, has been blogging for 10 years and is a WordPress trainer specialising in teaching beginners and post-beginners. She is well known for “explaining things really simply” through her highly visual e-courses. It was her personal experiences of having very little help to fathom the technical side of blogging that inspired her to create the Fairy Blog Mother. She won an award at the National UK Blog Awards, and regularly guest writes for many established blogs.

Jean WolfeJean Wolfe, Creative Spark Communications, is an established marketer, writer and radio broadcaster. Jean’s skills include helping women to speak up for their way of doing business, both on the radio and the Internet. She is fascinated by the fact that blogging is often more enjoyable than writing a website, and feels this is a more authentic way to market a business. She has been a teacher, publicist for book authors, and marketed and sold solar electric products internationally.

Ute Wieczorek-KingUte Wieczorek-King, Success Network, is an experienced UK-based German business owner, trainer and mentor. She started blogging in 2007 and didn't find it easy at first, especially as she doesn’t write in her native language. She believes in blogging as the best way to help female entrepreneurs (particularly those who are a little shy) promote themselves and get known. She has written several e-books and 100s of blog posts, some of which are published on 'The Huffington Post' and 'Prowess 2.0'.

Have any questions?

Q: "Will I need to pay extra to set up my blog?"

A: The blogging platforms we are suggesting are all free at the point of creation. There are no hidden hosting fees and the themes (templates) are automatically included.

Q: "I think I want my own site and sell products. Will this course help me?

You will learn how to blog using to get you blogging quickly. There is no cost involved and offers huge benefits to a new blogger too (more of that below and on our course). It is easy to move from to your own hosted site where you can sell products and develop a newsletter list. Or you can upgrade within to access similar benefits.

Q: "Why"

We totally believe in making things easy and simple for you. Learning how to blog using a blog is perfect for a beginner blogger whether you blog for personal or for business reasons. And when you do eventually want to upgrade and have your own an all-singing and dancing hosted site, that's easily done too. Meanwhile you can enjoy all the benefits you get from, such as its large community and WordPress's high status within the search engines.

Q: "How can I start a blog without a web developer?"

A: There are plenty of blogging platforms around you can use to create a blog easily, simply and efficiently, without having to pay for a web developer. This course will show you how easy and simple it is. Of course if you want to create a more sophisticated blog, then you can hire a web developer to help you, however a simple blog can be just as effective and is best for the beginning of your blogging career.

Q: "Are you sure I can do all this within one week?"

A: Setting up a blog doesn't take that long to do, once you've been shown how. The rest of the week is to reassure you and guide you towards creating the best blog for you.

Q: "I’m really concerned about the technical language, are you sure I will understand it?"

A: We give you that information as clearly as possible so you can work at your own pace and not feel hustled. We do our best to avoid jargon and be reassured we are not remotely geeky, so no need to worry.

Q: "How will this course be delivered?"

A: This is an online course and you will consist of a webinar on Day 1 and emailed lessons for the remaining four mornings of the week.

Q: "How long is the webinar?"

A: It will last about an hour.

Q: "Do I need to have a login username and password to access the course?"

A: No, the material is delivered via daily emails, so comes directly into your inbox.

Q: "How much time will I need for this course?"

A: It depends how much you know already and how excited you are about the changes you are making. We estimate 20-60 minutes per day and the maximum will depend on you. The step-by-step videos can be viewed independently and as many times as you like. We hope you will do so well that it will be worth spending more time on this course.

Q: "What happens if I miss a day because I’m too busy? Or a week, if I’m on holiday?"

A: All the information will be there, waiting in your inbox for whenever you are ready. Some people prefer doing the course daily, others store the emails somewhere safe to catch up on them later.

Q: "Is your information up to date? I know the internet is always changing."

A: What an excellent question. Luckily most of the recent changes are in favour of professional people who care about their reputation. People offering the latest trick or guaranteed short cut are now in trouble. Alice won a National UK Blog Award last year which certainly wouldn’t have happened if she were not up to date in her thinking. You won’t get any out-dated slick answers that may have worked in the past from us.

Add New PostQ: "I am worried you may not understand what I want to do with my blog, which is probably different from everyone else."

A: The most important thing is that you are clear about what you want your blog to do, and what it is all about. All three of us have worked with hundreds of businesses in workshops and with one to one clients. Provided you want to be a helpful voice on the planet it will be fine. Of course we don’t touch anything immoral, illegal or unpleasant, but then we don’t think you do either.

Q: "Are you available to give extra help along the way?"

A: We have a support system for our course participants, ranging from individual Skype sessions to an ongoing support programme where we take you from zero to hero for as long as is necessary to make your blog the best it can be!
